Minimalism and how to create a minimalist look

Minimalism describes movements in various forms of art and design, where the work is stripped down to its most fundamental features. Minimalism can be seen as a movement or fight against mainstream /Abstract Expressionist art. Minimalism is often art expressed threw moving or still images, sculptures, buildings, food. The essentials of a minimalist piece of work is to break and cut down any "unneeded" items to the product. A minimalist product will be very basic and simple for example modern art can be seen as minimalist as there is just the bare fundamentals of the paint on the paper completely contrasting the paintings of large elaborate woods or sea scenes. An example of a minimalist architecture would be that of the tate modern gallery in London as many of the work shown is minimalist but the walls and floors are often white with no distractions away from the art on show. Minimalism in music videos can be shown by the locations. The location would need to be bare and not a distraction for the viewer again this would be similar for the media products i will be creating the products will be stripped down of any text apart from essentials and also the images will have a simple but effect view and may connote messages to the audience simply.
