The cultural studies approach perspective on audience

Preferred Reading - The audience recognises what is shown and the values of what is being shown and is accepted them without any problems as they are natural and correct.

Negotiated Reading - the audience recognises the text and accepts the values the text has given but may not be acceptable by an individual but can be accepted on a larger scale by other people

Oppositional reading- the audience disagrees with the values and rejects them.

The cultural studies is a total contrast to the Effects Model.
